Construction/ CALCULATOR

Wallpaper drops with straight pattern matching

Count complete strips per roll instead of assuming every square metre can be used.

Calculate separate walls separately: each may need a partial-width strip.
Measure several positions and use the tallest part.
Use the continuous length supplied, not a nominal single-roll area.
Check whether the product needs edge trimming.
Enter zero for free match. Offset/drop match and murals are not supported.
Total trim for one strip, not an allowance at each end.
Measure the loss to reach the chosen pattern start; zero only if none is needed.
Add an explicit reserve for damaged strips or later repairs.
Cut length per strip

3.20 m

Complete strips per roll

3 strips

Required strips including reserve

16 strips

Whole rolls

6 rolls

Unallocated roll length

7.60 m

One rectangular wall of uniform maximum height; free or straight match only. Cut length is conservatively rounded to a full repeat. Start loss is applied to every roll. Do not deduct windows by area; plan short pieces separately. Unallocated length includes spare usable strips and offcuts, not a promise of reusable waste. Check batch, hanging direction and the supplier’s layout before ordering.

FROM ESTIMATE TO ACTION

Use the result, not just the number.

01

Verify the inputs

Measure or document each input. If a value is only an estimate, record its source and test a conservative alternative.

02

Keep the calculation traceable

Save the input link or copied result together with the date, units and assumptions. A number without its inputs cannot be checked later.

03

Confirm the decision

Compare the estimate with the related guide, current product data and requirements that apply at your location before buying or building.
