Tile grout and whole bag estimate

Make tile dimensions, joint depth, product consumption factor and spare material explicit.

Only this tile size and grout system.
Actual face dimension; all tile and joint dimensions use millimetres.
Do not use this rectangular-grid model for irregular mosaics.
Depth actually filled, not automatically the full tile thickness.
Check the product’s permitted joint range.
Use the factor from the manufacturer’s consumption formula. 1.6 is an example, not universal.
Allowance for mixing and cleaning losses, stated separately.
For multi-part products use complete kit mass, not one component.
Approximate consumption

0.240 kg/m²

Calculated grout mass

4.80 kg

Mass with allowance

5.28 kg

Whole bags or kits

3 bags

Purchased mass

6.00 kg

Approximate narrow-joint rectangular-grid formula, not exact geometry. The consumption factor is product-specific and is not loose dry-powder bulk density. Bevels, texture and incomplete or wider joints change demand. Confirm with the current product coverage table and a sample. Movement/perimeter joints use a suitable flexible system, not ordinary rigid grout; grout alone is not waterproofing.

FROM ESTIMATE TO ACTION

Use the result, not just the number.

01

Verify the inputs

Measure or document each input. If a value is only an estimate, record its source and test a conservative alternative.

02

Keep the calculation traceable

Save the input link or copied result together with the date, units and assumptions. A number without its inputs cannot be checked later.

03

Confirm the decision

Compare the estimate with the related guide, current product data and requirements that apply at your location before buying or building.

Inputs to verify

Tiled area (m²)
Only this tile size and grout system.
Tile length (mm)
Actual face dimension; all tile and joint dimensions use millimetres.
Tile width (mm)
Do not use this rectangular-grid model for irregular mosaics.
Filled joint depth (mm)
Depth actually filled, not automatically the full tile thickness.
Grout joint width (mm)
Check the product’s permitted joint range.
Product consumption factor (kg/L)
Use the factor from the manufacturer’s consumption formula. 1.6 is an example, not universal.
Application loss allowance (%)
Allowance for mixing and cleaning losses, stated separately.
Bag or kit mass (kg)
For multi-part products use complete kit mass, not one component.
