Identical cut pieces from whole stock lengths

Count repeated equal-length pieces while reserving end trim and one complete cutting kerf for every piece.

Identical stock lengths; exclude unusable pieces from the supply.
Both ends together, including end-squaring loss not included in per-piece kerf.
All pieces have this same finished length; no end joints or assembly allowance.
Actual cutting width, not blade plate thickness. Zero is a no-loss comparison, not a recommendation.
Include explicit spare pieces here; no hidden waste percentage.

Interpretation:The conservative plan gives 4 stock lengths. Keep a separate cut list; scattered remnants are not one long piece.

Conservative one-length model: a full kerf is reserved per required piece, even if the last piece could use an existing end. Trim applies to every stock. No mixed-length optimization, defects, grain direction, mitres or cut sequencing. Unallocated length is distributed between stocks and may not form a usable long piece. Quantity does not approve a cutting tool, workholding or structural design; confirm a real cut list before buying.

FROM ESTIMATE TO ACTION

Use the result, not just the number.

01

Verify the inputs

Measure or document each input. If a value is only an estimate, record its source and test a conservative alternative.

02

Keep the calculation traceable

Save the input link or copied result together with the date, units and assumptions. A number without its inputs cannot be checked later.

03

Confirm the decision

Compare the estimate with the related guide, current product data and requirements that apply at your location before buying or building.
