Construction/ CALCULATOR

Mixing water for a weighed dry-mix batch

Scale the product’s stated litres per bag to a weighed partial batch, only if the product permits partial mixing.

Use actual mass, not scoops or estimated fraction of a bag. Partial mixing must be permitted.
Use the same product and pack size as the water instruction.
Use the current product instruction. If it gives a range, select a permitted value; this tool does not choose it.
Water for the entered batch

2.880 L

Entered water rate per dry mass

0.240 L/kg

Dry mass as a fraction of the reference bag

0.480 bags

Interpretation:Use this only when the product permits homogeneous partial batches. Do not add water to setting material.

Linear scaling of the product’s water-to-dry-mass instruction, not a mix recipe. Only for products that permit homogeneous partial bags and proportional water dosing. It excludes segregated blends, reactive multi-component ratios, aggregates added separately, moisture already present and material-specific mixing/rest times. Too large a batch can exceed working time. Never add extra water to revive setting material or change a product ratio based on this result.

FROM ESTIMATE TO ACTION

Use the result, not just the number.

01

Verify the inputs

Measure or document each input. If a value is only an estimate, record its source and test a conservative alternative.

02

Keep the calculation traceable

Save the input link or copied result together with the date, units and assumptions. A number without its inputs cannot be checked later.

03

Confirm the decision

Compare the estimate with the related guide, current product data and requirements that apply at your location before buying or building.

Inputs to verify

Weighed dry material for this batch (kg)
Use actual mass, not scoops or estimated fraction of a bag. Partial mixing must be permitted.
Bag mass used by the product instruction (kg)
Use the same product and pack size as the water instruction.
Chosen permitted water quantity per bag (L)
Use the current product instruction. If it gives a range, select a permitted value; this tool does not choose it.
